According to the latest statistics released by the Companies Registry, the total number of newly established local companies in Hong Kong by the end of 2022 reached 104,120, including 39 public companies, 103,105 private companies, and 976 guarantee companies.
Moreover, the total number of locally registered companies under the Companies Ordinance was 1,391,678, representing an increase of 16,506 from 2021. Among them, there were 920 public companies, 1,374,385 private companies, and 16,373 guarantee companies.
In addition, the number of licenses issued to trust or company service providers under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance also showed an increase. In 2022, a total of 533 licenses were granted, with a total of 6,834 license holders as of the end of the year.
